Since Facebook”s immaculate inception in 2004, the site has garnered the largest active user base amongst all social media platforms. Currently, Facebook is not just another social networking site, it”s a viable contender, alongside Apple, for Google”s tech throne in the years to come. Facebook has transcended social and moved towards being a publishing platform. Facebook”s latest innovation, the Timeline, was introduced late in 2011 and will be completely rolled out by the end of March for all users. The new cover image, prominently featured at the top of the page, allows for further customization which has resulted in genius examples of creativity. Individual images can be pinned to highlight the photos by making them widescreen and social apps have been integrated into the platform as well.
